We provide financial support to patients and families to get access to equipment, care or therapy, undergo Bone Marrow Transplant or for families going through bereavement. Grants are given for items and treatments not otherwise covered by the NHS, or necessary health service in your country. Please read details below to apply for a grant.
Equipment, Care and Therapy
Require a letter from your hospital confirming patient’s diagnosis of Adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD), a quote or an invoice and a letter from your medical specialist stating potential benefit to the patient of the requested item. We also require proof that they have approached local funders and been declined. Payment is made to the provider.
Bone Marrow Transplant
Require a letter from your hospital confirming patient’s diagnosis of Adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD) and the start date of the bone marrow transplant. Grants are available up to £300. Payment is made to parents/guardians.
Require a copy of the death certificate or a letter from your hospital stating that death was due to ALD. Grants are available up to £300. Payment is made to parents/guardians.
The maximum any family can have for a year is £1,000 or equivalent, unless otherwise agreed by our Board of Trustees. Board of Trustees agree grants for over £1,000 to a family under very exceptional circumstances.
