Meet Oli the Oligodendrocyte

Have you met Oli the Oligodendrocyte?

You might be wondering what an Oligodendrocyte is; Oligodendrocytes are the myelin-forming cells of the central nervous system.

Sara Hunt, CEO of ALD Life wanted to have a mascot that represents something that encompasses a part of ALD. Oli has been a part of the ALD Life merchandise for a few years, now after giving him a name we want to see where in the world Oli can possibly get to. One of our fundraisers Jon Milne is taking him on an epic adventure across the seven seas – the question is will Oli survive the waters or will he get swept away? Oli is waterproof, which means that he will be able to bob along the sea in the event that he falls off the boat!
